SCHOOL VISITS

I am always delighted to share BAT COUNT and present to students about bats, citizen science, writing about social & environmental issues, and being an author. I lead writing workshops as well.

A former elementary teacher with a Masters in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College, I love working hands-on with children and young adults and am always excited to tailor presentations to issues or themes a class is studying. I prefer working with one or two classes at a time to allow more opportunity for children to participate and engage.

Visits typically runs from 30 to 45 minutes, and I can offer up to three in a single day — though writing workshops may run longer and involve multiple visits. I’m happy to sign books, as well, if time allows.
